Howlin: Europe must decouple banks from sovereigns

Irish Public expenditure minister Brendan Howlin said Europe must “decouple” banks from sovereigns as it seeks to contain the euro zone’s financial crisis.

“We need to decouple the sovereign from the banking debt and the capacity is there now with new European instruments to provide that now for Spain or any other country that needs it,” Howlin said in an interview with Bloomberg Television recently.
