Five Eastern European presidents discussing oil supplies bypassing RussiaAn informal energy summit of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine has opened in Krakow. Energy problems and the reanimation of the Odessa-Brody-Gdansk oil pipeline project are in the focus of attention. The sides would like to supply crude across Azerbaijan and Georgia to Ukraine’s Odessa and farther on to Western Europe via the Odessa-Brody-Gdansk route. That route would bypass Russia and therefore meet the energy security concept drafted by the Polish government.
