Iran's president wants Israel's Jews moved to Canada, Alaska or Europe
Iran's hardline president called the existence of Israel an "insult to human dignity" Friday during annual rallies in support of Muslim claims to the holy city of Jerusalem. And Mahmoud Ahmadinejad once again said Palestinians should not pay any price because Europeans committed crimes against Jews in the Second World War. The state run Islamic Republic News Agency reported that Ahmadinejad said Friday that Europe, Canada or the U.S. could give a part of their own land so that Jews in Israel can establish their country.
Note EU-Digest: No one in the "Western Camp" will probably take the suggestions by Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about solving the Palestinian problem very seriously, but no one should blame him for not at least trying to come up with "innovative ideas". All we in the EU seem to do is follow the line the US draws up for us on the Middle East. That policy, so far, has been a total failure. Isn't it time the EU starts to draw up some of its own independent plans on the Middle East?
