The French parliament is due to debate the Syria crisis on Wednesday, although the government has said it won’t hold a vote.
Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said: “On wednesday there will be a debate without a vote, because in law the ultimate decision can only be taken by the president of the republic alone, once the coalition is formed, to lead an action which will send this strong message: It is no longer possible for the dictator Bashar Al Assad to use chemical weapons in Syria against his own people.”
