Turkish FM says any division in Iraq may cause chaos
Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said on Sunday that any division in Iraq may cause chaos, the private CNN-Turk television reported. In an interview with CNN-Turk, Gul said "Preservation of Iraq's territorial and political integrity is very important for Turkey and the world." He appreciated the elections held on Dec. 15, 2005, in Iraq, saying it showed that "political process functions in that country. This process is very important for Turkey as well. Incidents in Iraq affect also Turkey," he added. Gul expressed concerns over the situation in northern Iraq.
"Turkey closely follows developments regarding Kirkuk," Gul said.
