US Health Care: "The example Europe Should not copy"

An article in the journal Health Affairs figures that, by 2015, the US health care bill is expected to top $4 trillion. Much of the increase is expected to come from the needs of aging Baby Boomers.What's worse is that while judgment day gets closer, the United States is doing virtually nothing to prepare for it. In fact, we're only digging ourselves a bigger hole. The national debt stands at $8.25 trillion, and is growing by $2.21 billion per day. The U.S. budget is expected to post another $400 billion deficit.American households aren't doing much better than their government. The U.S. savings rate dropped into the negative last year to minus 0.5 percent. The savings rate hadn't fallen into the red since the Great Depression. "Europe, which has always closely followed the US when it comes to consumerism better sit up and take notice."
