European Union approves tenth EDF protocol, doubling funds for ACP countries
Santo Domingo.- The European Union approved the tenth protocol of the European Development Fund (EDF) for ACP countries (Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific), which strengthens ties between the two blocks within in light of the Cotonou agreement that in force until the year 2020. This is the most ambitious financial protocol that both countries ever signed, encompassing 24,390 million euros, including 2,000 million euros that will be funded by the European Investment Bank.
Currently, the EDF has 13 billion euros, which indicates that the recently approved amount almost doubles resources.
