EU becomes China's largest source of imports
The European Union has become the largest source of China's imports recently and the huge growing market in China means huge opportunities for European companies, said Mr. Chen Deming, China's Minister of Commerce during the 2nd China-EU High-level Economic and Trade Dialogue in Brussels on May 7 and 8. Many European enterprises and brands are well-known in China and quality Chinese products with competitive prices save some 300 euro a year for each European household on average, according to Chen. He highlighted the importance of consolidating the China-EU communication and developing bilateral economic and trade relations in dealing with the common challenges posed by spreading the impact of the international financial crisis.
