Almere’s international school will open again after the summer recess following a deal reached between the school board and city council.
The management of the school will be taken over by the "Het Baken school group" while the Almere City Council has agreed to finance the mortgage of the building for a four-year period at €40,000 a year.
"Consequently the school’s Ministry of Education Certification is no longer in danger", said the Almere City Council spokesperson .
Students and parents had occupied the high-school after being told a day before the school summer holidays that it would not reopen after the summer break. The school has some 200 pupils aged 12 to 19.
