Given the free time we have on our hands now with this obligatory stay
at home time, I started to contemplate the possible celestial
relationship there is between the Coronavirus and the word
"recompensate", in a more philosophical and Biblical context.
Recompensate as many scholars know is a long-established principle in the Bible and is strongly related to justice.
In the law given to the Israelites, it is the required response after a theft or injury. Exodus 22:1 says, "If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall repay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep." Leviticus 24:17-21 says that whatever damage or injury someone causes, the recompense will be proportionate — injury for injury or replacement of property.
Are we now reaping the celestial justice of all the blood we and our fore -fathers have on our hands ----- from killing original inhabitants of many countries, slavery, wars, use of the atomic bomb, massacres, the holocaust, carpet bombings of innocent civilians, exploitation of the poor, global polution, animal abuse, sex trade, etc etc.
Yes indeed, mankind has a lot to blame on itself for all the troubles it is facing today. As long as it will remember when all this is over not to make the same mistakes again !
