My sincere thanks for the invitation to speak on this Sunday afternoon, at this beautiful cultural forum here in Amsterdam, and to such a distinguished audience.
You can probably tell I'm in a good mood. A very good mood indeed. Why? Because here and now, I have the pleasure of announcing that along with the State Secretary for Culture, Medy van der Laan, I am launching a new cultural centre. For the time being, at least, we are not calling it Mediterranean House, but the Centre for Cultural Dialogue."
