Iran, Turkey to hold confab on eco cooperation
The preliminary meeting of the 19th conference on economic, commercial and technical cooperation between Iran and Turkey will be held in Ankara on Monday, IRNA reported.
The 18th conference on Iran-Turkey economic cooperation was held in Tehran in August 2004, and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan heading a high-ranking delegation took part in the event. He said at the conference that Ankara aims to increase commercial ties with Iran to $ 10 bln in mid-term.
Iran-Turkey trade exchanges in the first nine months in 2006 indicate an increase of 66.10 % compared to the figures for the same period last year. Turkey's export to Iran increased 2.5 % in the first nine months in 2006, while its import from Iran also increased to 84.1 % compared to the figures for the same last year.
