Let's be honest, the recently unveiled Boeing 747-8 is a beautiful thing. It's red-orange, and white (we like, others not so much) and full of clever tricks and just so big.
But when it comes down to hard, fast facts, how does it compare to its direct competitor, the Airbus A380, currently the world’s largest aircraft?
The A380 fleet of 42 aircraft, operated by Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qantas, Air France and Lufthansa, has transported more than 9 million travelers on long haul flights since 2007. So should it be trembling against the chocks now that the 747 has had a revamp?
For the serious competition fiends out there Airbus comes out on top, five rounds to three.
