Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced the schedule Friday evening after reaching an agreement with Republicans, who had pushed for a delay to give Trump a chance to organize his legal team and prepare a defense on the sole charge of incitement of insurrection.
The February start date also allows the Senate more time to confirm President Joe Biden's Cabinet nominations and consider his proposed $1.9 trillion COVID relief package — top priorities of the new White House agenda that could become stalled during trial proceedings.

The Netherlands - heat wave in February: Temperatures could hit 20C in the Netherlands this week
Spring has come early to the Netherlands. With a sunny weekend behind
us, it looks as though the good weather won’t let up for the next few
days. Some Dutch weather records might even be broken, with forecasts predicting temperatures in the vicinity of 20C.
The southeast of the country can count on the highest temperatures these coming few days. If temperatures do reach 20C, the weather record of the fewest days since it was last 20C, could be broken. The record now stands at 134 days between October 26, 2013 and March 9, 2014. It would also be one of the few years that such high temperatures have been measured this early on in the year. The record for the earliest date in the year that it reached 20C belongs to 1990, when temperatures hit 20,4C in South Limburg on February 24.

Europe: Meteorologists warn of February ‘deep freeze’ across Nordic states
Temperatures are likely to drop even further below normal next month throughout the Nordic region, according experts from Weather Services International (WSI). WSI officials said that a high-pressure pattern is to persist over the arctic through to February, continually pushing frigid, dry air southward over Scandinavia, as well as toward Russia, the Baltic states and Britain.
The official WSI statement read, “All of the objective evidence suggests a very cold remainder of winter across the Nordic regions and northwestern Russia as atmospheric blocking re-emerges and allows for very cold Arctic high pressure and dry weather to persist over these areas, including the Scandinavia hydro basins.”
It added, “We expect the lingering impacts of the atmospheric blocking to persist into at least March, with cold temperatures persisting across the Nordic regions.”
