Britain - EU meeting today butnNo new backstop proposal at Juncker-Johnson lunch

UK prime minister Boris Johnson had a lunch in Luxembourg on Monday with European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker and chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier. After the meeting, Juncker said it was "the UK's responsibility to come forward with legally-operational solutions", adding the commission was open to proposals to replace the backstop. However, Juncker continued, "such proposals have not yet been made" and that the "EU-27 remain united".

Refugee Crises: EU leaders finalize migration proposal

European leaders have agreed on a deal to curb the flow of migrants into the EU. The plan will be presented to Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Friday. Here's what you need to know about the summit so far:

-Earlier Thursday, many EU leaders expressed skepticism about various elements of the deal, including the visa liberalization plans for Turkey, which would allow visa-free travel for Turkey's more than 75 million citizens within the EU

-On the table: Turkey has offered to take back all migrants who have arrived illegally in Greece by crossing the Aegean Sea. In exchange, Turkey has requested a total of 6 billion euros ($6.7 billion) in aid from the EU, on top of rapid visa liberalization and the acceleration of EU accession talks

-Human rights organizations have criticized the deal for undermining the right to asylum, breaching international and EU law

-Speaking to reporters at the airport before leaving for Brussels, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said he saw "some difficulties within the EU ... in fulfilling these terms [in Turkey's proposal]." He warned that Turkey would not accept any deal which turned his country into an "open prison" for migrants

-Davutoglu will join EU leaders for breakfast on Friday to continue the talks - and possibly for lunch and dinner as well

Greece debt crisis (2): Greek MPs debate controversial reforms plan

Greek MPs are debating new proposals sent to the country's creditors with the aim of getting a third bailout and averting a possible exit from the euro.

The plans contain elements, including pension reforms and tax rises, that were rejected in a referendum called by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

The EU and other creditors are studying the plans before a summit on Sunday.

France and Italy welcomed the proposals but Germany, Greece's biggest creditor, warned of little room for compromise.

Greece says sending reform list on Friday in bid to unlock aid - by Annis Behrakis

Greece is submitting a long-awaited list of reforms to euro zone and International Monetary Fund lenders on Friday in the hope it will unlock badly needed cash, a Greek government official said.

The European Union and IMF lenders, informally called the Brussels Group, will meet in Brussels later on Friday to start discussing it, the official said. Their approval, followed by the blessing of euro zone finance ministers, will be needed for Athens to unfreeze aid and stave off bankruptcy.

Athens has so far given little indication about whether the latest list will contain a more far-reaching reform than a previous list of seven reforms on broad issues ranging from tax evasion to public sector reforms that failed to impress lenders.
