EU to give Morocco 650 mn euro to help in reforms
The European Commission announced Friday proposals for a 654 million euro assistance package for Morocco to support implementation of the EU-Morocco Action Plan. European Commissioner for External Relations and Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner will present the proposals at a seminar on "Morocco and the EU" taking place in the Spanish city of Barcelona Friday.
"Morocco is engaged in a process of very ambitious reform stemming from its own vision of modernization and development. The benefits of reform in Morocco are already emerging: stronger growth, greater foreign direct investment, and higher employment," said the Commissioner in a statement.
