Obesity to be biggest health problem in Netherlands say Experts
Obesity will be the biggest health problem in the Netherlands in 2050 as more and more children have been suffering from overweight in recent years, Dutch media reported Friday. Pediatrician Anneke Bulk of the University of Amsterdam told a conference in Amsterdam on Thursday that 15 percent of the Dutch population up to age 19 are overweight, which amounts to 400,000 now. About 40,000 children suffer from obesity, she said. The number of overweight children in the Netherlands will grow by about six percent every year unless something is done, Bulk warned.
