China Edges Out Germany As World's Top Exporter
"China Edges Out Germany As World's Top Exporter
China has become the world's largest exporter after showing exports jumped 18 percent compared to the same time period of 2009. China now replaces Germany as the world's top exporter. The country exported about $140 billion, or 917 billion yuan, worth of goods from January to October 2010.
Germany's exports suffered because of the global recession and is recovering slowly, the China Daily newspaper reports. The paper quoted the Federation of German Industries, which predicts German exports will increase by 4 percent in 2010 and needs four more years to completely rebound."
