China Southern Airlines' first A380 arrived in Sydney on Monday morning and was immediately doused with a water-cannon salute.
China Southern is the fourth airline to fly the superjumbo, the world's largest airliner, into the city, following in the slipstream of Emirates, Qantas and Singapore Airlines, which landed the first commercial flight of an A380 into Sydney in 2007.
China Southern says that adding the daily Sydney-Guangzhou A380 service will put an estimated $100 million into the New South Wales economy.
