USA: Nazi style Razzia's, as 'Sanctuary' Cities are Targeted By ICE and some 500 People Arrested

The New US Order
The NBC network reported that a federal operation to arrest undocumented immigrants this week netted nearly 500 people in cities and states that have openly opposed the Trump administration's deportation initiatives.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said Thursday that its four-day "Operation Safe City" targeted people in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Denver, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore as well as Cook County, Illinois, Santa Clara County in California's Bay Area, Portland, Oregon, and Massachusetts.

"Sanctuary jurisdictions that do not honor detainers or allow us access to jails and prisons are shielding criminal aliens from immigration enforcement and creating a magnet for illegal immigration," Tom Homan, ICE's acting director, said in a statement. "As a result, ICE is forced to dedicate more resources to conduct at-large arrests in these communities."

At first the Department of Homeland Security scrapped the operation after the agency said it was halting nationwide enforcement actions in the wake of hurricanes Irma and Harvey.

This latest effort indicates the administration is ready to renew its efforts.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has warned cities that supporting sanctuary policies could cause them to lose millions in federal grants — particularly if they don't help the federal government deport suspected undocumented immigrants already being held in jails.

USA- Illegal Immigrants: Trump supporter thought president would only deport ‘bad hombres.’ Instead, her husband is being deported. - by Peter Holley

When Helen Beristain told her husband she was voting for Donald Trump last year, he warned her that the Republican nominee planned to “get rid of the Mexicans.”

Defending her vote, Helen quoted Trump directly, noting that the tough-talking Republican said he would only kick the “bad hombres” out of the country, according to the South Bend Tribune.

Months later, Roberto Beristain — a successful businessman, respected member of his Indiana town and father of three American-born children — languishes in a detention facility with hardened criminals as he awaits his deportation back to Mexico, the country he left in 1998 when he entered the United States illegally

“I wish I didn’t vote at all,” Helen Beristain told the Tribune. “I did it for the economy. We needed a change.”

Note EU-Digest: the reasons Roberto Beristan was arrested and will be reurned back to Mexico are not too clear in this Washington Post article.

EU - Refugees - Syria: With The Help Of Smugglers, Syrian Refugees Sneak Into Europe - by Deborah Amos and Rima Marrouch

The 27-year-old Syrian, who once smuggled arms for Syrian rebels, is now waiting in Istanbul for a human smuggler to get him to Europe. He says his name is Mohammed. He does not offer a second name. He will go by air, he says, the safest route. He has paid a smuggler more than $8,000, and he's sure he will get to Austria.

In the past week, he connected seven friends with smugglers.

"I know that most of them made it," he says, with a tight smile. He is traveling light. Everything he owns is in a backpack.

"I am leaving Syria under a lot of pressure," he explains.

He seems exhausted by the waiting. Twenty days ago, he got into a fight with an al-Qaida-linked group while helping a friend in the Syrian town of Sarqib. Mohammed says he killed two of their men.

Thousands rally against German neo-Nazis in Hamburg

There has been a massive rally in Hamburg to commemorate a string of immigrant murders blamed on neo-Nazis.

Members of the city’s Turkish, Greek and Jewish communities joined the silent march.

It follows revelations that three neo-Nazis had been killing immigrant shopkeepers for years and police have failed to connect the murders to right-wing extremists.

Illegal immigrants head for Holland

I want to go to the Netherlands!" yells an immigrant who has just been arrested at the border between Turkey and Greece.

The border leaks like a sieve. Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants enter the EU via the Turkish border, burning their documents so they can't be sent back, and hoping to cash in on the European welfare system.

The Dutch military police that help patrol the border say they can’t stop the flow of illegal immigrants. And they have little confidence in the effectiveness of the fence that Greece is planning to build to keep the immigrants out.

NATO: Rasmussen: Instability in the Arab world can lead to illegal migration

Instability in the Arab world is not a military threat to NATO but could cause a resurgence of illegal immigration in Europe, said Monday the Secretary General of the Atlantic Alliance Anders Fogh Rasmussen said.

"I do not consider the situation" in the south of the Mediterranean "as representing a direct threat to NATO or its members," he told reporters, referring to the wind of revolt in Egypt and Tunisia. However, "the evolution in the Middle East and North Africa may have an impact on the peace process in the Middle East, instability in the region also have on the longer-term negative impact on the economy of this region, resulting in illegal immigration in Europe, etc.." he added.

Greece blasts EU 'hypocrisy' for opposing Turkey wall plans

Athens on Sunday (9 January) has slammed the "hypocrisy" of unspecified EU member states criticising its plans to erect a wall at the border with Turkey, while at the same time denouncing its incapacity to stem irregular migration.

"It is hypocrisy when some who denounce Greece for failing to guard its borders under the Schengen Treaty also criticise us... for seeking to strengthen the watch on our borders," Christos Papoustis, the minister for citizen protection told the Real News daily.

The European Commission last week said: "walls and barriers are short-term measures" that cannot solve immigration problems in a long-term manner. The UN's refugee agency, which has constantly slammed Greece for its poor detention conditions for irregular migrants, also warned against the plans. Speaking in parliament on Friday, the minister defended his government's plans to build a US-style fence on its land border with Turkey.

50% drop in EU irregular migrant border crossings after Italy-Libya pact

Italy's "push-back" pact with Libya to send migrants picked up at sea to detention centres in the north African country instituted last year has produced an extraordinary drop in the number of migrants apprehended irregularly crossing the EU border - whether by land or sea.

Irregular crossings into the EU had been climbing in recent years, with Brussels data from Eurodac, the EU's biometric common asylum registration system released on Tuesday showing a rise of 62.3 percent in the number of cases between 2007 and 2008.

However, the number dropped by a whopping 50 percent in the last year. At the sqm time, the number of asylum seekers in Europe rose by eight percent in 2009

MALTA-ITALY TENSION REACHES NEW HEIGHTS

Unconfirmed reports of a meeting between Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Opposition leader Joseph Muscat reached this newsroom yesterday, as high tension is building up between Malta and Italy on immigration. The two leaders discussed the situation on the latest incident in which Italian army boats warded off a Maltese patrol boat with 66 migrants from entering Lampedusa.
Tension is at its highest level ever since the 1980 Saipem incident, when a Maltese-commissioned Italian oil rig was stopped by Libyan gunboats. On Friday afternoon, Malta sent a note verbale to Italy, urging it to stop reneging on its international obligations for refusing to take in the migrants. A meeting also took place between Foreign Affairs Minister Tonio Borg and the Italian Ambassador to Malta, Paolo Andrea Trabalza.

immigration, on Wednesday the European Parliament approved tough new

18 months. Foreigners who have been forcibly deported also face a
five-year ban on reentering the European Union.

RIOTS IN DENMARK! Muslim Youths Go On Torching Rampage

Six youths were arrested in Copenhagen for setting cars and dumpsters ablaze and throwing stones at police in a fifth night of riots in a predominantly immigrant area of the Danish capital, police said Friday. "We've had six arrests so far. They've been charged with throwing stones at police and setting fires to cars and waste containers," Chief Inspector Henrik Olesen of the Copenhagen police told AFP. At least 11 cars were torched in various neighbourhoods of Copenhagen, and 10 others in the nearby town of Kokkedal. On Thursday, 17 youths were arrested for rioting the previous night. "We don't know why they're rioting. I think it's because they're bored. Some people say it's because of the cartoons but that's not my opinion," Olesen said.

Note EU-Digest: Even though the Danes asked for this by republishing the cartoons in Denmark, Muslim immigrants need to understand a) that we have a secular society in the EU and B) that the EU respect the freedom of the press, religion and also consider women equal to men. We can only hope the Danish government will revoke the Danish/European citizenship from these vandals and extradite them to their country of origin.

List' of illegal immigrants killed trying to get in to Europe displayed in Athens

If there is one unmissable work in the Athens Biennale being held between September 10th to November 8th, it is 'The List'", comments Evi Eleyftheriadou, a journalist of the daily, which has published the list. "A list adorned with 8,855 names of people aged between 18 months and 70 years old. A list of shame, because these are the people who lost their lives trying to get into Europe between 1993 and 2007. European borders are difficult to cross and the European dream is perilous for the thousands of immigrants fleeing their countries. Coming from Iran, Afghanistan, Africa, or Pakistan, their sole objective is Europe.
