USA - Donald Trump - People express their view: "We must condemn treason "
As much as this coup attempt is upsetting, it is not surprising. In the weeks following the 2020 election, claims of fraud among some Donald Trump voters have only risen in pitch with subsequent electoral milestones: conspiracy at the polling stations, then amid the electors and finally within Congress itself. Trump’s usage of his social media accounts to stoke division only incited more fervor.

British Russian Relations: Theresa May accuses Putin's Russia of election meddling and fake news - by William Booth
Dispensing with diplomatic niceties, British Prime Minister Theresa
May on Monday night charged Vladimir Putin’s Russia with attempting to
“undermine free societies” and “sow discord” in Britain and the West by
“weaponizing information” and “deploying its state-run media
organizations to plant fake stories.”
“So I have a very simple message for Russia. We know what you are doing. And you will not succeed,” May said. “The U.K. will do what is necessary to protect ourselves, and work with our allies to do likewise.”
May’s condemnation, in a speech before business executives in a London banquet hall, was quite different from remarks over the weekend by President Trump, who appeared to take sides with the Russian president.
“He said he didn’t meddle,” Trump said Saturday, answering questions in the press cabin on Air Force One, about growing evidence of Russia’s involvement in the 2016 presidential campaign. “I asked him again. You can only ask so many times. . . . He said he absolutely did not meddle in our election. He did not do what they are saying he did.”

US Congress versus Turkey: Erdogan No Longer Wanted In America - by Abdullah Ayasun
In a unanimous vote, the Committee also separately condemned Turkey
for the violent attack on peaceful protesters outside Turkish
Ambassador’s residence in Washington, D.C., during President Erdogan’s
entrance to the building.
The congressmen at the subcommittee hearing even went on to say that President Erdogan should never be allowed to visit the United States again, and pressed for the expulsion of the Turkish ambassador, echoing the earlier call of Senator John McCain.
The sharpness of discourse and recriminations against the Turkish president was a testimony of the state of bewilderment among American politicians.
“To have the president of another country who watched his bully boys beat Americans into the ground and bloody them and for him to protest our people, that is the supreme insult,” Dana Rohrabacher, chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats, said during his opening remarks. “We don’t need people like you visiting the United States any more.”
“When we want to talk to the Turks, we want to talk to Turks who want to have a democratic society, and not to their oppressor, a man who is trying to create Islamofascism in his own country with him as the head fascist … Erdogan should never again be invited to the United States.”
“He is an enemy of everything we stand for, and more importantly, he is the enemy of his own people,” he said, reflecting a widely-shared sentiment among the American public.
The incident prompted swift condemnations from infuriated members of the both chambers of the U.S. Congress.
On Thursday, a bipartisan group of senators called on Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to waive any claims to immunity for security detail of foreign delegations. They also pressed for holding bodyguards accountable for their actions, making them available for interviews with the U.S. authorities.
If Turkey overturns the American demands, the senators argued, that Mr. Tillerson should revoke diplomatic credentials of Turkish Ambassador to the U.S. Serdar Kilic and reconsider visas for other government officials.

Religion - Islam: Grand Mufti urges Muslims to forge unity, shun evil deeds
![]() |
| "Murder is great fitna (mischief) in Islam" |
“Islam is a complete code of life, it’s a perfect and definite religion of Allah, it teaches brotherhood among Muslims and provides spiritual, moral and social training,” said the grand Mufti while addressing millions of Hajj pilgrims.
The chief mufti urged Muslims to keep away from crimes, such as murder and other evil deeds.
“The murder is great fitna (mischief) in Islam. Our religion teaches the abidance of Allah and His Prophet… Islam prohibits obscenity as haram and sin… Oh Muslims! Be God-fearing, keep a control on yourselves,” he said.
“Oh believers! Murder of a single person is the murder of entire humanity, and the one who committed this act unduly shall burn in the hell forever.”
“Tyranny throws one in darkness whereas takwah (fear of Allah Almighty) leads one towards success,” he said while addressing the world’s biggest Muslim gathering.
The Mufti said un-Islamic forces are hatching conspiracies against Islam and Muslim countries. “Blood is being shed… Khawarij (those who seceded from the mainstream Islam) are still among the ranks of Muslims.”
The Mufti said Jihad is also an obligation of Islam which should be carried out as per true and definite teachings of Islam.
“Jihad is better than everything else in the way of Allah, it dispels fitna (evil/malicious acts) and fassad (anarchy/bloodshed), everyone of you should follow the teachings of Islam which is a perfect religion.”
Praying to Allah for betterment and falah (success) of the Muslim ummah, the Saudi religious cleric urged Muslims to observe patience in their lives in testing times, protect each other’s lives and properties and work together for the success and prosperity of Muslim societies.
Concluding his annual sermon, Mufti Abdullah prayed for the Muslims of Syria, where internal strife claims thousands of lives.
Nearly three million Muslims from across the world are in the holy cities of Islam for annual Hajj pilgrimage.
