"Brussels denies EU-US terror flight deal
The EU did not give permission to the US to transport terror suspects over European airspace at a meeting held in Athens in 2003, the European Commission has insisted.
The minutes of the meeting, obtained by the British Telegraph newspaper, claim to show that the EU gave permission to the US to use European facilities - airports - for its so-called ‘rendition’ flights.
The newspaper claims to have seen the original version of the document – not the published minutes which made no mention of the agreement as a matter of “courtesy to Washington”. "
