Dollar Slips in Europe
The dollar slipped in Europe Monday as new U.S. data showed the most meager level of orders placed with American factories since 2002. The euro bought $1.4818 in afternoon European trading, up from $1.4803 in New York late Friday but well off a peak for the day of $1.4849.The British pound climbed to $1.9741 from $1.9677, while the dollar was up to 106.63 Japanese yen from 106.47 yen.
