Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona refused Thursday to make Arizona the second state in the nation to declare privately minted gold and silver coins, bars and ingots to be legal tender in the state.
In vetoing the bill which was approved by by the Arizona Senate earlier Governor Brewer said she shares the concerns of proponents that the dollar isn't worth what it used to be. And she said it's likely to get worse "as a result of an unsustainable federal deficit."
But the governor said she's not ready to take the plunge -- one that so far only the state Utah has taken.
