With just three hours to go before polling stations close the number
of people voting in the Local Authority and European Elections is
increasing.
Voter turnout at polling stations in some parts of the country is reported to be well above 30%.
There are also two Dáil by-elections taking place in the Dublin West and Longford Westmeath constituencies.
The polls will close at 10pm tonight.
The turnout is rising well above 30% in Waterford, Kilkenny and in parts of Cork, Galway and Limerick.
In Longford and Westmeath where voters are also selecting a new TD the turnout is again around 30%.
In Dublin, figures are lower and many areas in the city and county are averaging in the mid-twenties.
In some parts of Donegal more than 40% of the electorate have voted already.
