USA: Trump FBI raid: the far-right conspiracy theory about the Mar-a-lago search.

The GOP’s meltdown after the FBI raided Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort was swift and fevered, with calls for investigations of the Justice Department and increasingly mainstream whispers of “civil war.” The right-wing corners of the internet mobilized in kind. The fertile far-right media ecosystem was more animated than it’s been in months, and the loose network of YouTube and podcast stars posted multiple shows filled with doomsday punditry within hours.

The Apocalypse: Doomsday Clock nears apocalypse over climate and nuclear fears say Atomic Scientists

The Mayans prophesy of the USA
The symbolic Doomsday Clock, which indicates how close our planet is to complete annihilation, is now only 100 seconds away from midnight.

The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (BAS) said on Thursday that the change was made due to nuclear proliferation, failure to tackle climate change and "cyber-based disinformation".

The clock now stands at its closest to doomsday since it began ticking 1947.

The idea began in 1947 to warn humanity of the dangers of nuclear war.

Former California Governor Jerry Brown, another member of the panel, said: "Dangerous rivalry and hostility among the superpowers increases the likelihood of nuclear blunder. Climate change just compounds the crisis. If there's ever a time to wake up, it's now."

One person who openly denied the "doomsday" prediction was Donald Trump when he spoke to an audience of world leaders in Davos, Switzerland.

After touting America's strong economy, the President told his audience Americans reject the prophets of doom who predicted overpopulation in the 1960s, mass starvation in the 1970s, and the end of oil in the 1990s.

"They are the heirs of yesterday's foolish fortune tellers,” he said. “And they want to see us do badly but we don't let that happen.”

"What President Trump said today in Davos was phenomenal,” said  Climate Depot's Marc Morano, a vocal skeptic of man-made climate change. "President Trump is the greatest challenge to the entire global warming establishment, and not just becasue of his polices, but because he is willing to challenge the narrative and tell them to their face at the actual conference what it's like."

All we can say is: "time will tell".

Climate Change: No, Climate Change Will Not End the World in 12 Years - by Sheril Kirshenbaum

Climate scientists, biologists, engineers and others with expertise have been speaking and writing about our changing planet for a long time. My own work has focused on how we'll figure out a way to come to terms with billions more people, limited resources and more extreme extremes. Droughts will be worse. Floods more severe. Storms increasingly intense.

I've often felt like a modern Cassandra, writing and speaking about the dramatic and unprecedented planetary shifts taking place due to short-sighted policy choices. Deforestation, the burning of fossil fuels, and the ways we use water and produce food inevitably do take a toll on the environment, our health and security. As a marine scientist, I observed firsthand how the pH of oceans has been changing along urban coasts in a process called acidification due to excess emissions.

The evidence of climate change has been all around us for a long time. Protecting people and Earth's co-inhabitants from its most devastating impacts will require institutional reckoning and action.

Doomsday scenarios may generate clicks and sell advertisements, but they always fail to convey that science is nuanced. Arbitrary "time left to apocalypse" predictions are not evidence based and the story of climate change doesn't fit neatly into brief bullet points competing for your attention in today's saturated media environment. Stoking panic and fear offers a false narrative that can overwhelm readers, leading to inaction and hopelessness.

When I worked on Capitol Hill 13 years ago, I faced a cacophony of staffers and lawmakers choosing inaction on the assumption that climate change wasn't real. Today many of the same people point to the dire predictions dominating the news and shrug off better policies with the excuse that the world is ending anyway.

If history teaches us anything, it's that humans have a penchant for anticipating our End Times. Ancient mythologies from cultures all around the world describe catastrophic floods and religious cults continue to recruit followers with predictions of death by comet or solar flare.

Earth isn't ending in 12 years. It didn't end at Y2K or when the Mayan calendar predicted the collapse of civilization in 2012.

Earth, as a whole, will be okay—for at least another few billion years. What's less settled is how humans and the rest of biodiversity on the planet will fare in the decades and centuries to come. That's up to us and I hope we work to highlight hope over Armageddon.

The world will end one day, but not today. And not tomorrow. And not in 2030. Earth will continue to change, but we're not necessarily doomed. Yet.

Doomsday or fake ? Planet X: 'Earth-destroyer' Nibiru to appear September claims 'code hidden in pyramids' - by Jon Austin

Is Planet X, or Nibiru on the way to earth ?
Christian numerologist David Meade claims he has discovered a “date marker” that reveals when Planet X – and the reported resulting apocalypse – is coming.

Planet X, or Nibiru, is reportedly a huge planet with a vast orbit that conspiracy theorists claim will one day pass so close to Earth that its gravitational pull could wreak havoc on our planet, triggering earthquakes and other catastrophic events.

The myth was born in 1976, when writer Zecharia Sitchin claimed that two ancient Middle Eastern cultures – the Babylonians and Sumerians – told of a giant planet – Nibiru – that orbited the Sun every 3,600 years.

Earlier this year, Mr Meade claimed to match the positions of celestial bodies with Bible verses, and worked out when Planet X would cause the end of the world - on September 23.

He claims the same timeframe for its arrival is shown by the pyramids.

The pyramids, built nearly 5,000 years ago, have long generated conspiracy theories due to mysteries over how they were built and their purpose.

The most far-fetched include that they were built with the aid of aliens who visited our ancient ancestors.

There are claims some hieroglyphics depict aliens and space craft that visited Earth who were worshipped them as gods.

However, many Egyptologists agree the Pharaohs were interested in space and the pyramids were aligned with the planets.

Mr Meade claims Nibiru will first be seen in the sky on September 23, and will not actually hit or pass us until October.

Many evangelical Christian fanatics claimed the rare total solar eclipse, due on August 21, is a sign of what is to come.

Mr Meade said: “It is very strange indeed that both the Great Sign of Revelation 12 and the Great Pyramid of Giza both point us to one precise moment in time – September 20 to 23, 2017.

“Is this the end of the Church Age and the transition to the Day of the Lord?
“There couldn’t be two greater witnesses.”

Of the pyramid, he said: “It faces true north with only 3/60th of a degree of error and is located at the center of the land mass of the Earth.

Blood moon doomsday prophesy: The science behind the hype - by Olivia Lowenberg

The lunar eclipse set to occur later this month has both skywatchers and some Christians excited, but for very different reasons.

John Hagee, founder and current leader of the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, has been prophesying for months that the upcoming "blood moon," so named for the reddish hue that the moon takes on as it is illuminated by sunlight passing through the Earth's atmosphere, will bring calamity.

Hagee's 2013 book, "Four Blood Moons" sought to draw parallels between previous lunar eclipses and important events in Jewish history, such as the expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1492 to the creation of the Israeli state in 1948.

Global Economy: New doomsday poll: 99.9% risk of 2014 crash - by Paul B. Farrell

Economic collapse
Global risks are accelerating. This is our fourth major poll update of industry leaders: A critical review of their warnings from early last year when we first predicted a 87% risk of a crash: Bernanke’s Fed saw an “unsustainable bubble” ... Gross: “credit supernova” ... Gundlach: “kaboom ahead” ... Ellis: “Don’t own bonds” ... Shilling: “shocker” ... Roubini: “Prepare for perfect storm” ... Shiller: “Irrational exuberance is back” ... Schiff: “Doubling down” on “doomsday” prediction ... InvestmentNews’ warning 90,000 advisers: “tick, tick ... boom!”

A few weeks later the crash risk was up to 98%. Then a dramatic preholiday uptick in investor sentiment. America’s collective unconscious tired of negativity after a Halloween headline: “Economic guillotine dead ahead.” A week later, 2014 became the “Year of the Boom.” Bank of America’s chief strategist screamed: “Bet on the bulls now.” The Great Gatsby spirit was celebrating the holidays“

Even old grumpy Dr. Doom, celeb economist Nouriel Roubini, began humming a happy tune all over television: “A global recovery is going to occur, get into equities.”

What really happened? Fed politics. Short-term, Larry Summers withdrew as a candidate for the Fed chairman’s job. Dark cloud lifted as Janet Yellen become the pick. Wall Street cheered, Bernanke’s easy-money printing presses would not screw up their year-end bonuses. Plus Main Street was mentally exhausted, tired of the bad news, relentless political drama. We needed a holiday break.

By Thanksgiving, “irrational exuberance” was accelerating in full holiday tilt: Headline: “Shiller’s hot P/Es will power a roaring bull till 2017,” and 2014 got branded the “Katy Perry market!” A week later, a Thanksgiving headline added: “10 reasons to be a bull in 2014.”

But long term? What’s really ahead for America in 2014? Warning, something bigger is hiding in the deep shadows of our collective brain. At a recent lunch with an old friend, one of the world’s more successful commodities traders, he confirmed that “something” was dead ahead. But not just another brief statistical shift in sentiment. Not a medium-term volatility shift. America, the world, are in a historic transition, a paradigm shift, a mysterious upheaval that few will grasp till it moves further along.

US Economy: Doomsday poll: still a 98% risk of 2014 stock crash - by Paul B. Farrell

Remember the dark warnings from last January through the fall? Fed even saw an “unsustainable bubble” ... Bill Gross: “Credit Supernova” ... Jeffrey Gundlach: “Kaboom Ahead” ... Charlie Ellis: “Don’t own bonds” ... Gary Shilling: “Shocker” ... Nouriel Roubini: “Prepare for perfect storm” ... Peter Schiff “doubling down” on his “doomsday” prediction ... InvestmentNews’s warning to 90,000 advisers: “Tick, tick ... boom!”

Then a sudden, dramatic psychological twist: The investors’ collective brain tired of the negativity in mid-October after the last bearish headline: “America’s economic guillotine dead ahead.” A week later the reversal: “2014 ‘Year of the Boom’ bet on the bulls,” quoting Bank of America’s chief strategist: “Bulls roaring. Hot race to the New Year. Then beyond into a booming, bullish 2014 rally ... Great Gatsby’s spirit is back in America. Top billing. Let the good times roll. Come join the party.”

By November irrational exuberance was accelerating, in full holiday mode: Headline, “Shiller’s hot P/Es powering a ‘Roaring Bull’ till 2017,” dubbed the 2014 “Katy Perry market.” A week later, another headline added: “10 reasons to be a bull in 2014.”

Is all this “Great Gatsby” and “Katy Perry Roaring Bull” just hype? Distractions? An emotional “Christmas Rally?” ... a brief dose of “irrational exuberance?” ... and after New Year’s parties, when Wall Street cashes bonuses ... when the next debt-limit fight triggers ... when Yellen’s Fed stops printing cheap money ... when the 2014 political battles really heat up ... when we wake up with New Year’s hangovers, remember all the earlier warnings from Gross and the bears ... will a bear recession take down the markets? After all, this bull market is in the fifth year of an average four-year bull.

the Fed’s “Ponzi Finance” must run its printing presses full blast to pump more and more credit into the economy “just to cover increasingly burdensome interest payments, with accelerating inflation the end result.”

The problem is huge: Bernanke’s Ponzi Finance is self-sabotaging. Endless cheap money upsets the balance between credit expansion and real economic growth, resulting in diminishing returns: “Each additional dollar of credit seems to create less and less heat. In the 1980s, it took four dollars of new credit to generate $1 of real GDP. Over the last decade, it has taken $10, and since 2006, $20 to produce the same result.” Bad news.

Yes, Wall Street and central banks worldwide are the engine driving Bernanke’s Ponzi scheme straight into a Credit Supernova bubble. Why? Because in the past generation more and more of the Fed’s new credit was channeled into market speculation, distorting the balance between markets and the real economy.

“Investment banking, which only a decade ago promoted small-business development and transition to public markets, now is dominated by leveraged speculation and the Ponzi Finance.”

Gross warns: As a result, “our credit-based financial markets and the economy it supports are levered, fragile and increasingly entropic — it is running out of energy and time. When does money run out of time?

The countdown begins when investable assets pose too much risk for too little return; when lenders desert credit markets for other alternatives such as cash or real assets,” a trend that’s already accelerating as more and more investors wise up to Wall Street’s dangerous Ponzi Finance, anticipating that a Credit Supernova will soon bring down Bernanke’s totally mismanaged monetary system, probably in 2013, months before his scheduled retirement.

Supernova Star Blast 'Could Wipe Out Earth' - by Mark Langford

A new study shows the star, called T Pyxidis, is much closer than previously thought at 3,260 light-years away - a short hop in galactic terms. It is set to self-destruct in an explosion called a supernova with the force of 20 billion billion billion megatons of TNT.

The blast from the thermonuclear explosion could strip away the Earth's ozone layer that keeps out deadly space radiation, scientists said.

The doomsday scenario was described by astronomers from Villanova University in Philadelphia.
