Croatia claims King Arthur as its own in new battle for tourists

In the world of international tourism, if you can claim a famous king as your own, then you are onto the jackpot.

So it is no wonder Britain and Croatia are at loggerheads over the nationality of King Arthur, leader of the Knights of the Round Table and Camelot and bearer of the sword Excalibur.

Some historians in Croatia are claiming the hero's mother was actually born in the town of Igrane, now a popular tourist beach destination, and tourism bosses are keen to cash in on the link.
