In the latest example of hopeless dysfunction in Washington, rebellious House Republicans on Sunday nixed the short payroll tax extension that their Senate colleagues had agreed on with Democrats.
Speaker John Boehner said he would not support extending the tax cut for only two months - a deal he had backed just a day earlier.
“How can you do tax policy for two months?,” Boehner said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
