Around the world there have been more shows of support for the Russian band.
The Vladimir Putin masks on display in Berlin made little secret of who protesters thought was behind the decision to jail the women for two years. They are not alone in believing the Kremlin is flexing its muscles.
“As a musician I believe in free expression, and the fact that people around the world are still denied this right is just disgusting to me,” said one woman.
In Brussels, one demonstrator said that after what she called Russia’s ‘election masquerade’, it was clear that even the slightest protest was impossible in Russia.
Note EU-Digest: whatever the motivation is behind any protest, disrespect for peoples beliefs, be it spiritual or intellectual, resulting in damage to property and private possessions must be condemned.
