Eartquake toll continues to rise in Pakistan
The death toll in north Pakistan from the biggest earthquake to hit the area in 100 years rose to more than 20,000, as the government sought helicopters to bring supplies and equipment to the mountainous region. The latest official death toll in Pakistan is 20,745 dead and 46,119 injured, Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao said in a telephone interview. In India, the toll rose to 750 people dead in Jammu and Kashmir state, the government said.
