Floods sweep Eastern Europe
Bulldozers in Northern Serbia have moved in quickly to build a flood barrier as the rising Danube river continues to wreck havoc. Hundreds of homes have been flooded, and some residents throughout Serbia and Bulgaria were forced to used boats to transport themselves around. Others used sandbags, while a few stood watching the rising water at their doorsteps in dismay.
The rising river also threatened production at one of the Balkans' biggest power plants.
