KENYA Tourism INDUSTRY SAYS 'THANK YOU' EUROPEAN UNION !
Kenya's once ailing tourism industry has continued to sustain its quite remarkable recovery. Latest tourism figures for last year released by the Kenya Tourist Board show a dramatic and continued increase in international visitor arrivals, total earnings and job creation. Last year, over 830,000 visitors flew into Nairobi and Mombasa, up by 21 per cent on 2004.The KTB Chairman added: "KTB has had significant support from the Kenya Government through the Ministry of Tourism and from the European Union through the Tourism Trust Fund.
"Without the funding from the EU we would not have been able to carry out all the marketing activities in the last two years which enabled us to implement a very effective recovery plan.
