Labour Party Gaining in the Netherlands
The opposition Labour Party (PvdA) is holding on to the top position in Dutch politics, according to a poll by Maurice de Hond. The survey suggests that the PvDA, led by Wouter Bos, would win 46 seats in this year’s election to the Second Chamber, up one seat in a week. The Christian-Democratic Appeal (CDA) is second with 41 seats, followed by the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) with 28 seats, and the Socialist Party (SP) with 13 seats. Seven other political organizations would send legislators to the Second Chamber.
