"European newspapers slam Israel

PARIS: European newspapers on Monday voiced horror and condemnation at the killings at Qana, with even the most sympathetic to Israel’s cause urging a change of tactics to avoid more propaganda gifts for Hezbollah.
Britain’s centre-left the Independent was one of several to remark that Qana is a town “implanted on the hearts of Christian Europe” as the scene of Jesus Christ’s first miracle, converting water into wine.
“Sadly, Qana ... has gained a new and very different fame today. What took place there is a symbol of everything that is most wicked and foolish about the American and British-backed war against Hezbollah,” it said."
