Danes unaware of EU election
Only one in six Danes is aware that the European Parliament elections are coming up in June, reports 24timer newspaper. According to the survey - which the EP itself conducted - over half of the 1,000 Danes polled said they had no interest in the election, scheduled for 7 June. Dan Jørgensen, the Social Democrats’ MEP candidate, blamed the lack of interest on poor media coverage and European Union politicians’ inability to properly communicate how EU decisions affect Danes’ everyday lives.
