EADS sees Eurofighter deal
European nations are set to place an order for more than 100 advanced fighter planes in a compromise over funding the next phase of the multinational Eurofighter, a top defense executive said on Wednesday. Germany, Britain, Italy and Spain have been negotiating for months over the third and final tranche of the costly programme in the face of pressure on budgets and are expected to commit for now to about half the originally targeted 236 combat jets.
