German Econ Min says not worried about weak dollar
Germany's industrial competitiveness does not depend on the euro-dollar exchange rate and the government is not worried about the current rate, Economy Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg said on Friday. 'The competitiveness of German industry is not dependent on the dollar exchange rate,' Guttenberg told a news conference. 'In view of this, I don't think we have reason for concern. We're assuming a euro-dollar rate of around $1.45 next year.'
