U.S. fatalities in Iraq mount
About 20 American troops were reportedly killed in Iraq since Saturday, including eight in a single day in Baghdad, according to a U.S. military statement which also said that the toll had brought "a tragic day". Four American troops were killed Monday when their vehicle was obliterated by a roadside bomb in northwest of the Iraqi capital. Four others were killed by small arms fire in various other areas across Baghdad.
Another seven U.S. military deaths reportedly took place in the western Al-Anbar province, the AFP reported.
