Schroeder: EU constitution talks will be difficult
During a visit to Prague he said he expects nonetheless that the German government, which holds the rotating EU presidency in the first half of the year, will still make progress. Schroeder said he hopes Germany's wish to save the European constitution will be fulfilled, adding that a majority of EU members have already approved the document in its old version, so it must be taken into consideration.
"It is difficult to tell those who have approved the constitution: you have ratified a bad text," Schroeder said.
