MLP delegates' overwhelming Yes to EU Constitution
Malta is expected to give a unanimous thumbs up to the ailing European Constitution after Labour Party delegates overwhelmingly approved it during a vote last night. In what could be interpreted as a strong signal of support for the MLP's leadership, over 85 per cent of delegates said they believed the party's parliamentary group should ratify the Constitution. Of the 817 valid votes cast (five votes were invalid and there were three abstentions), 699, or 85.6 per cent, said Yes, while 118, or 14.4 per cent, said No.
