EU should keep up North Korea humanitarian aid says EU commissioner Ferrero Waldner
EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner urged European countries to keep sending humanitarian aid to North Korea, despite its announced nuclear weapon test early this week. 'The population has suffered enormously,' she told European parliamentarians in Brussels. 'Therefore I would like to maintain the humanitarian aid that we have been giving these people.''They should not be jeopardised by this regime,' she said.
Ferrero-Waldner also noted that the European Union had provided some 345 mln eur in assistance to North Korea since 1995.
