Caribbean Community and Dominicans analyze the European Union's new sugar quota
Georgetown.- Sugar producing country members of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) will meet next Saturday with the Dominican Republic to establish a new sugar quota for the European Union (EU), according reports circulating today. A Caricom spokesperson confirmed that Trade ministers from Guayana, Barbados, Jamaica and Belize will meet in separate encounters, tomorrow and Friday before interviewing the Dominican delegation, headed by Foreign Relations minister Carlos Morales.
Guayana Trade minister Henry Jeffrey expects the Dominican delegation to claim an increase of its quota, despite this year's lower than expected productionr.
