Hear that sound booming out of the central U.S. last night?
It was the roar of social conservatives sending a message to their party and giving
former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum a three-contest sweep - Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri - in the Republican nomination race.
The storyline so far has been the divide in the party, with the establishment choice, Mitt Romney, fighting against a field of anyone-but-him candidates and benefiting from that splintered opposition.
