A European vacationer returning home to sub-zero weather from balmy Florida was interviewed at the airport on her return, as part of a special TV program on European vacationers escaping their frigid winter weather for more pleasant climates.
She gave a glowing report on Florida for its great weather, lovely beaches and bargain shopping. Very few negatives overall.
Her main gripe, however, focused on the banking fees she had to pay for using her debit card. "The highest charges I had to pay were at SunTrust bank terminals. For a withdrawal of $20.00 I took out on the last day I was in Florida I was charged $2.95. That is a 10.25% fee, incredible for a completely automated transaction."
