According to preliminary data for 2016, the European Union's (EU)
exports of services to the rest of the world decreased by 1.4% between
2015 and 2016, from €831.5 billion to €819.8 bn, while imports grew
slightly (+0.6%) from €685.7 bn to €689.7 bn. As a consequence, the EU
trade surplus in services, which had steadily increased between 2010 and
2013, has decreased for the third consecutive year in 2016 to €130.2
bn.
